Rev. Antonio Maria Resende Pereira, S.C.J., Pastor

Fr. Antonio Maria Resende Pereira, SCJ was born in the city of Lavras-MG. He is the second child of three siblings. He grew up in Nepomuceno-MG where he studied, worked and started a course in Electrotechnics and Automation, later abandoning the course to enter the Seminary. Vocational questions arose at a young age. He actively participated in parish life by helping in the liturgy, joining prayer groups and becoming a Catechist. At the age of 17, in his third year of high school, he joined the Dehonist Seminary in Lavras-MG, and discovered the joys and challenges of community life. He lived in Brusque-SC to study Philosophy between 2007 to 2009, in Terra Boa-PR in 2010, and in Barretos-SP in 2011.  He returned to Lavras to work in a recovery house for drug addition in 2012 and lived in Taubaté-SP between 2014 to 2017. With the grace of God, on December 15, 2017, he was ordained a Priest in the parish of Sant'Ana in Lavras-MG and came on a mission to Canada on March 8, 2018. He served as Associate Pastor at St. Thomas More Church in Scarborough for a few years and today he is Pastor at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish.
